The Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB) is a joint institute of the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts.
With its international appeal, the JIB is one of the most renowned jazz training centres in Europe. The artistic degree programmes offered are Bachelor Jazz, Master Jazz Arrangement/Composition and European Jazz Master (EUJAM). The international EUJAM programme is a cooperation with the universities in Amsterdam, Paris and Trondheim, in which students can study at three different locations within four semesters and thus build up an excellent international network.
With its top-class lecturers and a wide range of courses, the Jazz Institute Berlin reflects the diverse styles of jazz and improvised music. The red brick building on Einsteinufer is characterised by a high proportion of international students, networking with the vibrant jazz scene of the Berlin metropolis, internationally renowned workshop lecturers, its own recording studio, café and concert hall.
